While art and graphics are generally the focus of most digital media, it is the technical solutions and creativity that bring them to life. I created many rigs, scripts, and tools to achieve artistic success and increase productivity and efficiency while on the job.
Material Manager Tool
This tool was created to reduce redundancies in the model prep process. The tool allows you to import base materials, apply the material to selected parts, and apply the material to preset parts based on naming conventions. This tool is easily updated with new materials and new material presets to account for changes in brand cycles.
Laptop Rigging
These are two rigs created to reflect product functionality. The first is a leather notebook rigged to follow the clients specific bend pattern, including a slight lift on the leather when fully open, as well as, a secondary hinge for tablet usage and media mode. The second rig has a multi-step kickstand hinge that is driven by expressions.
Product Grounding Script
This next script was crucial in both saving time and creating precise results. It calculates the location of the products feet and aligns the product in the center of the scene based on the relation to one another. It achieves mathematical accuracy compared to the previous commonly used technique of eyeballing.
Blackout Creator Tool
This script was created to clean up imagery and achieve richer blacks that weren't muddled with extra light. The script is used to fill vents and the areas around ports, so that light won't seep in or cause an unwanted halo effect from masks.
Photoshop Actions
These are a few of the actions I compiled over the years to increase productivity and decreases wasted time. This list is forever growing to save down time and reduce mouse clicks.
